Hearing loss that is also called as the hearing impairment or deaf which is a familiar term for the layman as well. As we know that any impairment is caused due to some kind of defect or lack of anything in body that results in hearing loss completely or partially. Every 3 out of 1000 newborn babies are affected by the hearing loss problem.
Hearing loss main causes are sensor and conductive neural.
1. Conductive Causes: This kind of hearing loss is caused because of the sound waves access or movement problem to the ear. A plain example is when there is blockage of ear canal. There are certain other causes as well, which can be found if one wants too.
2. Sensorineural Causes: The cells of nerves or hair are broken that becomes the cause of loss of sound waves.
Now due to the development in technology, the hearing treatment has become very simple. There are two types of hearing treatment; reversible hearing loss treatment ad permanent hearing loss.
When treating reversible hearing impairment, the causes have the main importance. Most of the time this treated successfully. The age factor or the noise induced becomes the reasons of permanent hearing loss the for this hearing treatment one may use the hearing aids to help listening to some extent.
Talking about the age factor, the first thing that clicks our mind is Presbycusis. To most people, it sounds like an alien word but it is not, it is a term used when one gradually has loss of hearing due to old age.
Normally 30% to 35% suffers with Presbycusis in the age between 65 and 75. The person may know about the Presbycusis problem when he feels complication in hearing and some rough sounds makes him uncomfortable.
There are levels of Presbycusis that are mild, moderate and severe. In simple words , the conductive hearing loss means gradual loss of hearing ability. This happens when a person suffers from the diseases that changes its blood supply like high bold pressure, diabetes or other circulatory diseases.
The other cause of Conductive hearing loss is the excessive noise exposure that can be prevented. It is very important to have know how of the gadgets that may become the reason of hearing impairment. These gadgets include like the ones wood working machines, firearms and lawn mowers. These gadgets damages the hearing ability in the long run so beware to avoid them in excessive use.
For enjoying the life, hearing plays one of the most important role. Therefore you need to be careful about your hearing abilities. You can't do anything preventive in case of age factor but if there is another case then you should be careful. Much more can be known if researched about it.
